Experimental Verification of Reducing Power Loss under Light Load Condition of a Bi-Directional Isolated DC/DC Converter for a Battery Charger-Discharger of Electric Vehicle

This paper proposes a bi-directional isolated DC/DC converter for the battery charger and discharger of Electric Vehicle to reduce power loss under light loads. The proposed consists two full-bridge inverters, an transformer, boost reactor, provides transmission, buck-boost conversion, zero-voltage-switching reactive suppression. Two semiconductors inverter in rectification side are turned off block current, which increases phase shift amount full bridge inverters controlled continuously simultaneously seamless transmission. 400V-3.5kW experimental system exhibits stable conversion transition between charging discharging modes, while suppressing power. Moreover, reduces by 67.5W loads (240W), compared with conventional control.
